In the western world where we have so much choice over the food we eat, how do we make these choices, and how do those decisions affect our bodies?
There is no ‘one size fits all’ generic diet, as everyone is biochemically different, and many factors such as lifestyle, genetics, age and gender can contribute to a person’s unique requirements for nutrients. The food you eat has an impact on every cell in the human body; the key is to find the right balance for you as an individual.
Often, it can be difficult to strike a balance between the enjoyment of food and ‘eating healthily’ in a busy western world. Our bodies are hard-wired for survival; this can result in an innate craving for sugar and fat which can lead to suboptimal health.
Healthy food and delicious food are not mutually exclusive; if the two are combined it makes a perfect combination.
